Celebrating 30 years of Bt cotton

In 2026, we celebrate 30 years of Bt cotton in Australia, as the nation’s first commercial genetically modified field crop. Bt cotton has reduced overall insecticide use by up to 95% against primary caterpillars like Helicoverpa, lowered production costs and improved integrated pest management.
