A good first season considering considering how hot it was in summer. The trial suffered through early January but recovered with some rain in early February. The Sicot 748B3F had more growth and more fruiting nodes at the end of the season, but was favoured by the long drawn out finish with good rain coming March filling top bolls.

Started on long fallow moisture out of Chickpeas 2015
Later than ideal planting date (2.11.16) to suit rising soil temp
Limited in crop rain between critical growth period (Jan-March)
Extreme heat mid Feb, along with extreme night temps – significant boll shedding
57% rain (190mm) for the crop fell in March which saved the crop.
2 defoliations completed before first frost date (25.4.17)
Total Day Degrees = 2072 (note: much warmer season than average – CottAssist data)
Last Effective Flower = 14.2.17
First Flowes = 17.1.17
