A very interesting trial condsidering the lateness of pick. The crop had very little fruit in mid January but ironically the warm finish in February and March has made top bolls quite heavy. This crop somewhat escaped some of the heat through peak flower but did not escape the onslaught from insects. Both Sicot 748B3F and Sicot746B3F both performed well in the trial.

The crop was planted on the 27th Oct into moisture, very cold wet start
made for a slow start, coupled with heavy mirid and rutherglen pressure
retention was non existant until approx 12 nodes. High temperature from January onwards
coupled with high insect pressure meant for a delayed flowering period.
Crop was pushed hard to finish on time, I was relatively happy with the result considering the season that we had.
