Adam Kay said CSD had pledged the same amount annually over the seven-year the life of the CRC, which runs to 2005-06.

He said that including cash and in-kind contributions, CSD would provide around $3 million over the life of the Cotton CRC.

Dr Fitt welcomed CSD’s contribution and acknowledged the important role of industry in research funding, and the benefits of integration and cooperation in research and development.

Major R&D programs funded include novel research conducted by CSIRO; breeding new varieties; seed increase programs; and a long term program involving prevention and control of fusarium wilt.
