CSD appoints new Managing Director

___Cotton Seed Distributors has appointed an experienced marketing executive, Peter Graham, as its new managing director._

Since 1994 Mr Graham has been marketing manager of Koramba Ginning at Boomi in northern NSW.

Since 1990 Mr Graham has been a member of the CSD board, and a member of its key building, finance, marketing and seed intake review committees.

He is currently chairman of the CSD subsidiary Cotton Seed International, and a director of BCSI, a joint venture between CSI and Bayer Crop Sciences.

He holds a Bachelor of Rural Science degree from the University of New England and has spent all his career in cotton growing regions.

After graduation he worked as a sales agronomist with Bayer at Wee Waa, moving to cotton growing supervision and management at Bellata and Boomi, then manager of grower services with Namoi Cotton Co-operative in the mid 1980s.

He was subsequently appointed general manager of Carrington Cotton at Goondiwindi, then manager of grower relations and purchasing with the Cotton Trading Corporation also at Goondiwindi, where he was also a partner in GLS Contractors, a cotton picking enterprise.

CSD board chairman, John Grellman, said Peter Graham had held significant positions across a broad sphere of disciplines in the domestic and international cotton industry over more than 20 years.

__“Via his directorship of CSD and its subsidiaries, he has made a significant contribution to investment, research, seed production and processing, distribution, marketing and extension programs.

“CSD has made major investments in plant, equipment, intellectual capital and research and development in recent years, including an ongoing commitment to the Cotton CRC involving expenditure of in excess of $2 million over a seven year period to 2006.

“It is the Board’s expectation that Peter Graham will now lead the company through the next exciting phase of our development, which will be to capitalise on the enormous potential benefits of these investments,” Mr Grellman said.
