CRDC recruits new Communications Manager

__*_Following an extensive nationwide recruitment campaign, the Cotton Research and Development Corporation this week announced the appointment of their new Communications Manager based at the Corporation’s head office in Narrabri, NSW._*

p. “We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Burt to this pivotal role” said Executive Director, Bruce Finney. p. “Julie brings a wealth of experience and skills to the position. She has held several high profile policy and communications roles within the British Government, including Press Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Rt Hon John Prescott MP, and, since arriving in Australia two years ago, has worked in senior local government and regional development roles in both Sydney and Armidale.” p. “In addition, Julie has an Honors degree in Environmental Science and is currently studying for a Masters in Business Administration at the University of New England,” he added. p. Speaking during her first day in the job, Julie said: “I am very much looking forward to working closely with the Board and staff of the CRDC, industry stakeholders, and other rural research organisations in this very stimulating and challenging role” p. “It is already apparent to me that the industry is one which embraces a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Over $10 million worth of ground-breaking research is currently underway which will result in a more sustainable, profitable and competitive cotton industry, and will guarantee a significant return to both industry and government on their investment in CRDC’s research programs. p. “It certainly is a very exciting time to be entering the industry and I look forward to the challenges and rewards which I’m sure the job will bring!”
