Moving into the flowering stage of the season (for the majority of the growing regions) it is vital to capitalize on positive growing conditions, or alternatively supply the plant with adequate nutrition where possible.
This season’s start has been a mixed bag with good October rainfall for planting but followed by strong winds and above average temperatures in many regions. There is still good yield potential, but ensuring that the crop has minimal setbacks from now on is crucial in obtaining it.
For most regions January, the crop’s peak flowering period, is one of the most critical months in terms of determining final yield and fibre quality of a crop.
